WSIS Forum 2012 PDF Print E-mail

The GINI agenda was presented at a special session on identity management organised by ITU/OISTE at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), in Geneva on May 16th 2012. Organised as a discussion event, the session featured intensive exchanges between representatives of the public sector, business, and civil society. The presentation on GINI-SA (Global Identity Networking of Individuals - Support Action) what can be done to enable substantive progress in the development of an Identity Ecosystem with complementary roles for multiple mutually interrelated functions and players. At the end of the day, there needs to be competition for different kinds of services and users must express their preferences and make active choices. At the same time, close collaboration is required between multiple stakeholders, e.g., to work out the required e-infrastructure and standards, and to catalyze experiementation in new initiatives that can lay the basis for a viable future market in this area.click here
